Community Outreach
As the Digital Literacy Specialist, I strive to provide all stakeholders, students, parents, staff, board members, and surrounding community members up-to-date on all initiatives happening within the iCenter.
I also create partnerships with fellow librarians at the West Bloomfield Township Public Library (WBTPL) and parents to bring different activities and events to the building for the students to participate in.

Reading Appreciation Program (RAP) in Conjunction with the
West Bloomfield Township Public Library
RAP LETTER 2021-2022
Every year, students participate in the RAP program that is sponsored by the West Bloomfield Township Public Library. I work to choose 4-5 books that fit into each of the 4 main Language Arts themes for the year and then the public library provides the building with numerous copies. We then work together to provide students and families with the opportunity to meet a featured author.

Partnership with West Bloomfield Township Public Library Young Adult Librarian
LUNCH & LEARN SESSIONS WITH THE PUBLIC LIBRARY
Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Young Adult Librarian from the West Bloomfield Township Public Library and I would collaborate on lunchtime learning sessions for students. We worked together to provide sessions for students on video game creation with Bloxels and virtual reality (VR) sessions.
We would also work together to create presentations for students to kick of the Reading Appreciation Program at the beginning of the school year and to encourage summer reading at the end of the school year.
